A Dynamic Cooling Device So Original, It’s Patented

Candela’s patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) provides consistent, reproducible epidermal cooling and unparalleled comfort for our patients. DCD prepares skin for treatment by selectively spraying the upper layers with a cooling burst of cryogen in adjustable spray/delay durations, milliseconds before and after the laser pulse. DCD’s unique design provides excellent visibility throughout the entire process, is operator independent and provides the same epidermal protection no matter how fast the laser is fired.

Laser Hair Reduction

The Candela laser brings a high tech approach to laser hair reduction, applying a beam of high intensity light that penetrates down the hair follicle where it delivers a controlled amount of heat. infrared laser that can selectively target microstructures such as hair follicles. Utilizing dual wavelength options, makes this laser the 'Gold Standard' for hair reduction for all skin types. It is very effective for lighter skin types and because of the relatively low absorption of this light by melanin, it is the best choice when treating darker skin types and in fact, all skin types I through VI can be treated with the Candela Laser.

The Candela laser safely targets hair follicles, heating many hairs at once with high intensity light. The Candela laser employs a unique computer guided scanning system, together with dynamic cooling, that aptimizes the treatment ensuring that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated.

Most cutomers require 7-9 treatments at 8-10 week intervals. More than one treatment is required because there are four phases of hair growth – anagen, catagen, telogen, and exogen. Only hair in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated,

Some sensation of heat, visible redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however a cooling agent is applied to the skin immediately after the treatment which helps to instantly cool the skin. The heat and redness should subside within a few minutes to a few hours.
